The Converso Dilemma: Halakhic Responsa and Forced Converts

This video discusses a new book project I am currently working on. The book is titled The Converso Dilemma: Halakhic Responsa and Forced Converts. I explain the idea behind the book and one of the motivations for writing it. As I mention in the video, an individual contacted me about his experience with a certain rabbi and the disappointing response he received prompted to take up this old project once again.

This work will focus on rabbinic responsa and the status of forced converts, i.e., anusim. Rabbinic responsa during the 14th, 15th, 16th, and 17th centuries often discussed the status of Conversos who had or had not returned to Judaism openly and their status in relation to a number of issues.
