This video reviews the Marranos of Spain written by Benzion Netanyahu, the father of the current prime minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu. While controversial in its dismissal of Inquisitional records as a viable source of information on Conversos, it is important to consult it with the understanding that other material contradicting this view have been written and adopted by most scholars on the subject of Crypto-Judaism.
To some extent, Netanyahu focused more attention on the subject of Crypto-Judaism even while he largely denied its continued existence. His book nevertheless contains references to many rabbis who accepted the Jewish status of Conversos.
