Remembering Nona

My mother passed away on Shabbat HaGadol last week.

It was a tremendous loss. I was very close to my mother, and she was a very godly woman.

She was in the hospital for more than 30 days, and we had hope until the end. Last Thursday would have been her birthday. It is also my son Eliel’s birthday.

My parents were married for 52 years and were wholly devoted to each other and to us.

I officiated the funeral service. I could not see anyone else doing it for her. It was a privilege to be her son.

I still cannot believe she is not here.
