The awareness of a Crypto-Jewish background or family line has brought many individuals throughout Latin America to consider a return to the faith of their fathers.
The process for them to recapture their Jewish identity has not been easy for many of them. One approach recommended by Rabbi David Kunin bears merit. Rabbi Kunin’s approach is predicated on the opinions of various Sephardic rabbis of the late medieval period and places the emphasis on education as the key element in addressing the descendants of Anusim who are interested in returning to Judaism.

Rabbi Kunin graduated from Brandeis University . He attended the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, where he was ordained as a Rabbi. Rabbi Kunin has served communities as rabbi in Glasgow, Elmira, San Diego, Edmonton and now Japan.
