A Halakhic Teshuvah on the Descendants of Anusim

The awareness of a Crypto-Jewish background or family line has brought many individuals  throughout Latin America to consider a return to the faith of their fathers.

The process for them to recapture their Jewish identity has not been easy for many of them.  One approach recommended by  Rabbi David Kunin bears merit. Rabbi Kunin’s approach is predicated on the opinions of various Sephardic rabbis of the late medieval period and places the emphasis on education as the key element in addressing the descendants of Anusim who are interested in returning to Judaism.
